Bijar Mahi Rug
Bijar rugs are commonly referred to as the iron rugs of Persia. The highest quality, and the techniques of hammering down the wefts of the carpets resulted in production of the most durable Persian carpets.
They are seen below is one of the finest examples, the plain open field of terra cotta red with age has changed in colour to the
quality of a strained glass window. The variations in the red which are due to both changes in the dye and in the wool, heightens
the effect.
